Around the turn of the century I was appalled at the level of selfishness, corruption, abuse of power, and greed (SCAG for short) that seemed to dominate in all our political, public service, financial, and religious institutions worldwide. I was determined to do something about this problem, but not having a political bone in my body I decided that the only thing I could do was write about it.
I quickly realised that while there were many writers trying to expose the problem, there was nobody analysing it with a view to helping humanity to evolve to a more enlightened paradigm. It was also apparent that the problem of SCAG was around for thousands of years – the SCAG that brought down the Roman Empire approximately 2000 years ago was no different to that which caused the global financial crisis in 2008.
Therefore the question I was determined to answer was; despite all the major scientific and technological advances that humanity have made in recent years, why has human consciousness not evolved in any meaningful way for thousands of years?
To answer this question I first had to understand human consciousness as it is human consciousness that dictates the way we act and behave as humans. However, before I could understand human consciousness I first needed to understand the underlying aspects of reality in the following order:
Now, while there are many scientific theories and discoveries describing the origin and evolution of the universe, I quickly realised that there was very little information in the public domain that credibly explained the origin and evolution of life, mind, and human consciousness. At that stage I decided to start at the beginning, namely the origin of the universe, and work my way from there.
The theories and discoveries I have mainly focussed on were Maxwell’s theory of electromagnetism, Einstein’s theories of relativity, quantum physics, string theory, the Big Bang theory, Darwin’s theory of evolution, the discoveries of dark energy and dark matter, and the discovery that the CMB is uniform in all directions.
Then, based on scientific reasoning, I developed concepts that logically explain the interconnectedness among all aspects of reality from the source of the universe to life, mind, and human consciousness.
Since it is human consciousness that determines the way we act and behave as humans, this new concept of reality explains what we must do to move to a more enlightened paradigm. I am convinced that this is humanity’s only path to freedom.
My hope and dream, and the main inspiration for writing this book, is that in the not too distant future our children will be taught in our schools that there is both a physical and a non-physical aspect to life; and the non-physical aspect is the source of our intelligence, creativity, compassion, and love – and critically this teaching will be based on scientific fact rather than religious belief. It will therefore overcome the divisiveness of religious teachings.
